This weekend is designed to blend the perfect mix of healthy activities with relaxing down-time. Fusing a variety of yoga with Polly's Yoga and healthy wholesome foods prepared by Tatu Beaucroft, the fresh countryside air, wellbeing workshops, pampering treatments, the company of like minded yogis and sumptuous accommodation in the private stately home. We hope that you will leave the weekend feeling de-stressed, relaxed and rejuvenated.

The Yoga

The yoga will take place in a stately room within the main house with large windows, high ceilings and wooden floors. All mats and props are provided. 
 
Throughout the weekend you will have the opportunity to explore a range of yoga styles suitable for beginners as well as seasoned yogis. Vinyasa flow, yin, restorative and partner yoga will all be part of the mix with the important teachings of the Yoga Sutra's weaved into each session. There will also be opportunities to practice pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation throughout.

Your Teacher - Polly

Polly has a wealth of experience teaching retreats all over the world. She loves to get to know her students and share her deep passion for all things yoga. Whether its your downdog or your Om that you want to discuss she'll be on hand and happy to delve into the subject. 

Polly aims to create sessions that offer a balanced and holistic experience. She places an emphasis on getting the most out of each pose by helping correct positioning in a light and encouraging way. 

The Accommodation

Poundon House, is a privately owned country-house retreat venue, located on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border within a beautiful countryside setting. The house has been refurbished to a beautiful standard, retaining its stunning original features.  The rooms have a luxurious, traditional decor which make them feel homely and relaxed as well as a real treat. They are all spacious, beautifully decorated and have stunning views of the grounds and countryside. The house has a large communal spaces for guests to socialise and relax.

The Food

As a child in Thailand Tatu used to join her mother on her yoga mat, she seemed to think she was a climbing frame and likely she didn’t get quite as much out of the practice as Tatu did on those days. Many years later she began her own practice in her early twenties in 2006, exploring her body and mind and the effects of the asana and pranayama which eventually lead her to study a 200hr YTT with Bridget Woods Kramer at Triyoga London. Long before the training she worked as a retreat chef with Adventure Yogi and Stretching the City with numbers anywhere from eight to 55, she came to this through her studies in Nutritional therapy at one of London’s leading Complementary and Alternative medicine institutes; CNM.

 

Her life and interests are all interwoven and focus on the theme of wellbeing, finding health through nutrition, movement and mind. For each of us we can step into a feeling of wellbeing from different perspectives and angle depending on the individual and current circumstances, from creating delicious and nurturing yoga retreat menus to nutrition and food preparation workshops, yoga and movement sessions to exploring the mind and its chemical drivers she enjoys finding different paths to access the feeling of health for individuals.

The Treatments

Treat yourself to a pampering Indian head, full body massage (or both!) or a facial or hot stone massage with one of our wonderful holistic therapists. Treatments incur an additional charge of £50 for 60 mins or £30 for 30 mins and will be scheduled in free time over the weekend (where possible). Please book your treatment prior to the retreat we can can ensure we can accommodate you.

Please note there are no en-suite bathrooms. The house retains its original
layout so each of the bathrooms are outside the bedrooms and are shared
